Karen Bester
JHB North and West
I started my
working career as a nurse and
achieved a B.Cur degree in nursing
from RAU and completed it at PU vir
CHO. After completing my degree I
worked at Sandton clinic,
Morningside and Linksfield in Psyche
ward, Neurological High Care, ICU
and Emergency Rooms. After leaving
the hospital setting I worked as a
manager in a Health Management
company called QualSA healthcare.
Here I also did some work with
reports and statistical information
and developing software programs
where I was the interface between
the programmers and the staff using
the programs. I then needed a new
challenge and found myself as the
Burns Specialist for a Smith and
Nephew. Here I learnt a lot about
how businesses run and also got to
get to know the skin very well.
Smith and Nephew also gave me an in
depth look at the use of nano-technology
and growth factors in wound healing.
A friend of a friend offered me a
job to help them in the beauty
industry. I worked for People works
selling non-invasive treatment
options. The change to invasive
treatments made sense as my nursing
background gives me many treatment
options that I otherwise could not
teach you about. It also gives me a
big knowledge base to offer support
to you and your staff members. So I
started working for Lamelle in
November 2007.
Why I love working for Lamelle? Tony
and Bradley started this company
with a clear goal “Evidence based
Innovation”. All products produced
and imported by Lamelle have to fit
into this rule. Everything that is
developed is designed for a specific
need and has a research to back it.
This means that we are not producing
products that do not produce
results. That result might be
anything from having a brighter skin
that feels good to actually
rejuvenating ageing skin. All this is
grounded in the fact that we provide
knowledge. Our training is superb
and sometimes challenging. Yes the
only constant is change and
development. You are welcome to this
knowledge and we will provide
products and treatments (that keep
on developing) that make it possible
for you to manage most challenges
that you have seen on skin.
